What is EAS?
Electronic Article Surveillance is a system that prevents shoplifting from retail stores or even article in offices. Special tags are attached to merchandise to prevent theft. The EAS attachment comes in different variants such as; lanyards, magnetic tags, and ink based attachment.

With the use of EAS, retailers have the opportunity to show off their products in the open and safe environment without the fear of theft. It also helps deter shoplifters from targeting a specific retail outlet and help catch them in the act should they attempt any theft. This improves the safety of both the customer and retailers.

EAS help alert staff of a potential of theft by sounding an alarm. This allows retailers' staff to be more productive by keep on serving customers rather than constantly monitoring stock or analyzing surveillance footage.

The fact that it works 24/7 and require little to no maintenance is what makes EAS system very attractive for retailers. Tags can be reused, while deactivated labels are disposable and pass through the security antenna without sounding the alarm.
